I am not finding the type of music I want, how can I get more detailed?

How do I operate the search engine?

Once you’re on the Search Music page, look at the green box with grey buttons. You may click on as little or as many buttons as you wish. On some of the buttons a pull down menu will appear giving you more detailed options. When you click on a button, other buttons may grey out because those options are not available with the option you just pressed. This way you will always get a result with any search.

You can also limit your search my credits. 1=lower quality, all electronic/midi instruments, simple/usable productions 2=medium quality, mix of live and midi instruments 3=high quality, live instruments, vocals and great production. Certain credits may not be available based on what buttons you’ve selected. (For instance, if you chose: BLUES, CHEERFUL, SLOW: 2 or 3 credits may be the only option for now). Once you are ready press SEARCH. Your results will show up in the area below. Music is added every week, if you don’t find  exactly what you are looking for please send us an email.

How do I play a track?

Once you’ve pressed SEARCH, tracks will appear in the area below. Simply click on the play button on the left side of each track. A visual waveform of the track you are playing will appear in the player. Simply click wherever you want on the waveform to skip ahead or rewind. If you have an account you can add tracks to favorites and to cart as well download a low quality MP3 to hear how it works in your project.

Why can’t I download an MP3?

You need sign up with us and be signed in to download MP3’s, add to favorites and to cart. Downloading MP3′s is ONLY available if you have a monthly or yearly subscription.

Why can’t I add tracks to cart?

You need to have an account with us in order to license any music. Click here to sign up!

Can I get a CD or hard drive with Playtunes Music?

Unfortunately we do not offer CD’s or hard drives. Our focus is to make everything available on our website. Our system is better than CD’s or hard drives because we are constantly updating our catalogue so that you get the latest and greatest. There is also no need to contact us, everything is automated on our site for your convenience.

Once I purchase a song and download it can I download it again in the future?

Pay Per Track: Yes, you will have 30 days from the time of purchase to download them again. Simply login, go to My Account then My Favorites and under download history you will see an AIFF on the right of each track. If you see a +Cart button you will need to repurchase those tracks.

Subscriptions: Yes, you will have 30 days from the time of download to download them again without it counting against your monthly downloads. Simply login, go to My Account then My Favorites and under download history you will see an AIFF on the right of each track. If you see a +Cart button it will count towards your monthly credits, or if you’ve reached your download limit for the month you will have to pay per track or upgrade to a higher level subscription.
